Dorothy was right.

There’s no place like home.

Our entire family was ready to be home. Last week, FirstHusband and I went on a 2nd honeymoon to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and the kids stayed with friends while we were gone. Saturday, we were all back together and we celebrated it by not leaving the house.

we were total bums.

It was great. As wonderful as our five night cruise was, it’s good to be home. Saturday, we woke up sans alarm clocks and spent the day slowly unpacking and putting things away. FirstHusband did a LOT of laundry, he and FavoriteSon played video games, PinkGirl littered the family room floor with toys while watching DVR’d Disney Channel, I paid a few bills, rehearsed for praise team, and copped a squat on my loveseat with a some good books and a great cup of coffee. All while thawing some king mackerel my two favorite men caught on one of their fishing trips – then dinner together before family movie night watching The Tooth Fairy on pay-per-view.

There really is no place like home.

  1. Congratulations on your 20th! Husband and I just got back from celebrating ours, hence all the behindedness in my reading through blogs. I walked in and smelled “home”. I plan to keep it simple the next couple of days. My couch, my bed, my pillows are calling me sweetheart.
