men: avoid the doghouse

Now, in all fairness, I have to admit that I bought FirstHusband a tape backup drive one year for Valentine’s Day. And he bought me printer memory one year. But we were newly married. And broke. And we couldn’t print anything but text.

But the ONLY vacuum cleaner allowed as a gift? The iRobot Roomba Vacuuming Robot. A few years ago, I got a iRobot Scooba Floor-Washing Robot for Mother’s Day.

I LOVE it. Again. LOVE it.

This video is really great – completely worth the 4 minutes, 45 seconds to watch it! I love subtle, smart humor. The folding, the recorded message in the background, the lunch menu.

  1. A friend sent this to me around Christmas–what a hoot! I did ask Husband for a blender for Valentine’s Day. We both have a hankering for frappucinos and smoothies and our little Cuisinart thingy isn’t cutting it anymore. So I bought a Chocolate Mint 3.5 lb bag of coffee frappucino mix for him and told him he had to get the blender for me. A sort of Gift of the Magi thing.

  2. Definitely sending this to my hubby. One year I got a Crock Pot for Christmas, and he was definitely in the dog house. The fact that I actually use it often doesn’t count. Still very difficult for him to understand!
Thanks for the giggles–you’ve hit home with the past two videos.

  3. I’m a weird one. I’d prefer the techy or cleaning gifts. My husband got me a diamond heart necklace once and I was totally speechless. My sister was with us when I opened that gift and she audibly said “uh-oh” when I pulled out the little box. Now, I keep misplacing the darned thing because I don’t wear jewelry. I don’t even wear my wedding ring lol

But I am in the minority. 🙂
