Little Known Fact #30 on my blog: “I would rather eat a Brussel sprout than a Peep. bleh. It’s like goo with glitter on it.”
The only good peep is a dead peep.

I need to get back into the recording studio. It’s been 6 months. Listening to accompaniment tracks today. Need a worship song.

Family tradition is to stuff plastic eggs with candy and hide the eggs all over the downstairs. (the last one to be found when we decorate for Christmas)
Me, to FavoriteSon: “Guess who’s stuffing the eggs tonight.”
FavoriteSon, with a voice of resignation and a large sigh: “me.”
PinkGirl: “I’ll help!”
#ilovemykids (but not enough to stuff all these eggs)

Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with him again
Come awake, come awake!
Come and rise up from the grave
Oh death! Where is your sting?
Oh hell! Where is your victory?
Oh Church! Come stand in the light!
The glory of God has defeated the night!
Oh death! Where is your sting?
Oh hell! Where is your victory?
Oh Church! Come stand in the light!
Our God is not dead, he’s alive! he’s alive

Lesson learned: Don’t hide an egg in the opening of the subwoofer lest it get lost inside when trying to retrieve it.

PinkGirl got Tinkerbell Secret of the Wings on DVD for Easter. I’ve been racking my brain for HOURS trying to figure out where I’ve heard the character Dewey’s voice before.
Finally, it came to me.
It sounds exactly like Mr. Tudball. (who knows who that is? No Googling!)

Got in my van Saturday afternoon and I heard a rumbling noise when I started driving so I got out to take a look. No flat, but I discovered a screw in the back right tire. (no air leak) Got back in the van to drive home and the noise was gone. Thank you God for showing me that screw! And thank you Auto Mech & Muffler for fixing it so FAST this morning! #nocoincidences

At the repair shop this morning, there was a gentleman waiting on his car as I sat down to wait on mine. We made eye contact and instead of just sitting down and zoning in on my phone, I said “okay God, your call.” silently and “Good morning” out loud. That’s all. Just good morning. He said “Most people never look at their tires, how did you notice the screw in yours?” I said, “Well, actually – I hope this doesn’t offend you – but I believe it was a God thing.” and I told him how I discovered it. (my previous facebook post). 20 minutes later, I had heard all about his family which included the words “It was such an answer to prayer” twice. It was only 20 minutes and I don’t know what God will do with that 20 minutes, but I pray He uses my obedience for His glory.

My fifth 1 hour session of strength training done. Can NOT believe I’m already back up to a 2 minute forearm plank – after being sedentary since before Christmas! Did 24 tricep kickbacks with each arm while balancing on an indo board. THAT was flippin hard. I’ve gotta see how long I can stay up on that thing without touching down. #fightthefrump #GoodStewardofthisBody

When I get out a red solo cup and an index card, it means one thing in this house: saving a lizard’s life. Because I am NOT touching it. #badcat

I opened the door to let Boo the cat out because she hates the vacuum cleaner. Since she likes the “cat wants in cat wants out” game so much, I left it open for a few minutes while I vacuumed. She was less than a foot from the threshold with a live lizard in her mouth when I dropped the vacuum and bolted toward her yelling “NO!” Thankfully, when she dropped the lizard, he ran OUTside.
I tried to save his little life, but he was faster than me.
Go figure.

FavoriteHusband is finishing off the pantry makeover as I type! I’ll blog the photos soon. Maybe tonight. The resulting pantry door design put my cookbooks on a shelf in my kitchen instead of in a cabinet in the other room. In sight, in mind. I’ve been trying new recipes. I usually steam green beans and season with garlic salt, but I was bored. Tonight’s experiment was roasted green beans with onions, garlic and thyme. In case anyone was wondering, crunchy green beans not a winner in this house. I turned the oven down and they’re still in there. I’ll be making a note in the cookbook to steam them before roasting them next time. I may have to steam these before we eat them tonight. And if you have a green bean recipe you LOVE, please. please share it.
I’m done rambling now.

later…

omgosh! They turned out GREAT. The recipe said to roast them at 450 for 15 minutes. After I did that, I turned the oven down to 350 and left them in another 20 minutes.
Kid approved. Kid devoured.

Getting motivated.

1 hour strength training done. Today’s milestones:
1 minute wall squat followed by two 30 second wall squats
– goal is three 1 minute wall squats.
2 minute forearm plank
– goal is to get back to a 3 minute plank
2 sets of 10 pushups on my knees
– goal is to get up on my feet.
Lots of new stuff today, but no increase in weights. Last rep of everything was shaky and slow.
